About Me

I was born and raised in Mexico. Since I was very young I have been very interested in technology, computers and such, and how they work. One of my first “real” approaches to technology was back in 2013 when I built my first gaming computer, with a 3770K processor, 16 GB of DDR3 ram and a GTX 690 those were the days. While building that computer I realized how limited my knowledge about computers was, even though others considered me “techy”, and opened the Pandora’s box for me. My academic journey continued until I was in the last year of high school ready to study computer science or something related, but I started reading a medical text book and got really interested in medicine. That led me to study medicine and become a doctor/physician, while going through medical school I became really interested in Linux/Unix. Looking back I still remember my first Linux install with Ubuntu bionic beaver. Since that first install I got captured and haven’t looked back, as you probably read in the homepage now I’m an Arch Linux user now. My main reason to make the switch was the minimal nature of Arch and the very reasonable expectation that you need to understand at some level what is installed on your system to have a working install.

I find that this duality between tech and medicine is very interesting because in both fields there is endless complication and knowledge if you research a topic, you can search the pathology of a disease to a molecular level as you can research a “simple” topic like the UEFI boot and find a vast amount of information and further readings. Of course I continue to learn and grow in both areas and have created this website to keep a living journal if anyone is interested. When I dive into a new topic for me I will try to make a tutorial so the struggle to learn is lessened.
